CATIA T-1: Starting and customizing!

This is the first of series of tutorials on CATIA v5!

Step1: After installing CATIA, open by clicking on CATIA v5 icon. which opens a default window.

Step2: Close the window.

Step3: Click on the 'START' button on top left corner of the window.

Step4: Select 'Sketcher' option to enter into the sketcher window.

Step5: In the next window, top left corner shows the Specification tree where we can see the default planes.

Step6: Select any plane to go to sketcher window.

It is necessary to have a good control over mouse for faster and better use. Like every other software CATIA also has the zooming, scrolling, rotating buttons in the toolbar, but we will lose the flow of our project if we use those options. Next two steps shows how to use mouse in CATIA for the common zooming, rotating,... options.

Step7: To change the view, hold the center button and the right button and move the mouse.

Step8: To zoom in and out, hold the center button and click the right button and move the mouse up and down.

Step9: Customizing the toolbar will lessen the time consumption, Right click any free space on the toolbar and click on customize.

Step10: Under start menu, select the options which you use frequently and then    click on  the  button
You can also assign hot keys.

This ends the starting and customizing the CATIA tutorial.
